Have a happy and safe weekend
As we head into October, I would like to reassure you about the measures that are in place to support you if you need to self-isolate.
Firstly, it is important that you complete the self-isolation reporting form so we know you are self-isolating.
Secondly, if you are self-isolating because you have COVID-19 symptoms (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to sense of smell or taste) you should book a test through the NHS COVID-19 App, the nhs.uk/coronavirus website or by telephoning 119. We can help you access a test if you have not been able to do so yourself through these routes.
Once you complete the self-isolation reporting form, we will contact you and provide advice on accessing food, medicine and other essential supplies. We recognise that self-isolation is an important contribution in minimising the risk of spread of the coronavirus and are committed to supporting you. Self-isolation may also be an anxious moment and you can find advice on maintaining mental health and wellbeing on our website. Our students unions and their societies are also providing a range of online activities.
You will get a regular phone call to check how you are doing and to make sure you know how to access any additional support you might need.
In the event of an emergency on campus, our Security team is available 24/7. You can contact them through the SafeZone App or by telephoning 01904 32 4444.
There is more detailed self-isolation guidance on our COVID-19 web pages.
I hope you have an enjoyable and safe weekend - stay smart, supportive and safe.
